Using .NET to develop iPhone apps with Mono

Ryan Paul at Ars Technia has an interesting piece about Mono and it’s implications for bringing .NET to some unexpecd platforms through Static compilation.

This opens the door for .NET development for iPhone, Android, and the Wii. It’s a short article but does get the juices flowing.

I’m interested in developing iPhone Apps, but don’t have an Apple PC, just a Windows running Vista. Is there any way I can develop iPhone apps on this platform? Will these apps be able to be sold on Apple’s Store?

Unfortunately, You’ll still need to run the iPhone SDK on OSX to compile and submit to the iTunes store
