In an interview with AppScout Ice Cube and D.J Pooh discuss their new online venture called U View Network www.uvntv.com. The site launched in January and serves real-time video content via Silverlight.

DJ Pooh: We’ve mastered it on all platforms, but Microsoft offered a lot more with Silverlight. They’re gonna give Flash a run for the money. We designed the real-time timeline for a media player, but we figured it out for the future technology. Silverlight gives seamless uninterrupted flow.

Tim Sneath has a great set of articles entitled Great WPF Applications where he outlines some outstanding applications built on WPF. The series ran from Jan-Dec 07 but it’s still interesting to see where these applications ended up a year later.

MS Live Labs PhotoZoom

PhotoZoom SilverlightMS Live Labs has a free service called PhotoZoom that enables you to quickly create photo collections that use DeepZoom for composition.

It’s a neat app that uses Silverlight as an upload utility. Just point it at some photos, upload, give it a minute, and it creates a DeepZoom Collection with a code nugget to embed it into your page.

The collection below was created in about 30 seconds.
