The Windows Live Platform team is announcing today a series of new and updated features, including a new Messenger Library API, significant updates to Silverlight Streaming, an updated Windows Live Contacts API and Windows Live Photos API, and new Quick Apps and Visual Studio tools.

Ken Hinckley of Microsoft Research has put together a prototype Tablet PC note-taking application called InkSeine (rhymes with ‘insane’). InkSeine offers the unique ability to search for stuff directly from ink, without transcribing queries to a search box somewhere else. It’s scheduled for a public release on February 15, 2008.
