Silverlight Vs, Apollo and Java

Fast Company has an interesting article pairing off Silverlight against Apollo and Java.

Implementing WPF on OSX

As mentioned in an earlier post Novells VP of Development Miguel de Icaza presented the Silverlight 1.1 plugin for Linux at Mix07 Paris. What I didn’t mention was that the Silverlight plugin is just a small part of a larger initiative to port the .NET framework to Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X, Windows, and Unix.

WPF 3D Showcase, DOMINOKIN by Bascule JP

For the Japanese launch of Vista in December 06 Bascule launched a project to show off the capabilities of WPF 3D. They did a really great job of taking a platform that was in it’s infancy and, rather than focusing on the technology, kept things simple and applied their unique style to it. The result is a bizarre 3D experience that’s difficult to explain.

DOMINOKIN

Once you launch the application click the camera icon to take control of the view, click and drag to look around.

After looking around the Bascule site I have to say I love this agecy. I have no idea what it says but their work is completely out to lunch. It’s a great combo of art and technology.

WPF Office 07 Ribbon Control

WPF RibbonI’m working on a project where I have to create an Office 07 Ribbon control. While doing research I found this from DevComponents. Claims to be the one and only WPF Ribbon control available.

Wpf-Ribbon™ is the fully compliant Office 2007 style Ribbon control developed from ground-up for Windows Presentation Foundation. Wpf-Ribbon™ is a professional quality component for professional WPF applications.
